Dear Parishioners,

As we continue our sacred journey through Lent, I want to share some important updates with you.

First and foremost, my prayers are with you during this holy season as we reflect, renew, and prepare for the celebration of Easter. Lent is a time to deepen our faith through prayer, fasting, and almsgiving. Together, as a parish community, we walk this path hand in hand, growing closer to Christ and supporting one another in love and kindness. May this season bring healing and spiritual renewal to you and your loved ones.

1. Annual Seder Meal I am pleased to announce that our Annual Seder Meal will take place on Saturday, April 5th, at 6 PM. Initially advertised at $25, after much discussion, we have decided to reduce the cost to $10 to make it more accessible. This is not a fundraising event but simply a way to cover the cost of the food.

Traditionally, this meal was an invitation for those involved in various ministries. Recently, we have opened it to everyone, which is something I truly celebrate. It’s a wonderful opportunity for us to come together as a parish family. Time is drawing near, so please let us know if you plan to attend. I hope to see many of you there as we share this special experience.

2. A Bittersweet Transition On a more personal note, I would like to share some news. Recently, I was approached by Cardinal Leo and asked to serve as the Spiritual Director at St. Augustine’s Seminary. For several years, I have been a spiritual director for seminarians, and three years ago, I completed a program in spiritual direction.

It is with a heavy heart that I share that I will be leaving the parish. Your welcome, kindness, and warmth have meant the world to me. Though my time here has been relatively short—since January 5, 2023—it feels as though I’ve been part of this parish family for much longer.

I will officially leave on June 25th as I need to undertake a special course in Rome to prepare for my role at the seminary. While I am sad to leave, I am also filled with gratitude for this new calling and excited to share that I’ll be in Rome during the Jubilee Year.

3. Pilgrimage to France and Rome I want to assure you that I have received permission from Cardinal Leo to still lead the Pilgrimage to France and Rome. If you are considering joining, please inform the travel agency of your interest. There will be an information meeting about the trip, with details to be announced soon.

In closing, let us continue to walk together during this sacred season, united in prayer and faith. Know that you will always hold a special place in my heart, and I hope to stay in touch as I embark on this new chapter.

Yours in Christ,

Fr. Roy
